Improving Communication
Midvale Police is trying new and different techniques to keep its citizens up to date. We want the ability to instantly communicate to you any type of criminal activity alert or inform you of upcoming events or crime prevention classes. Information is available to you through two websites: www.midvalepolice.org and www.citizenobserver.com listed under Midvale, Utah. Information available at these two sites include: crime prevention tips, your Community Oriented Policing team assigned to your area of town, upcoming events and educational classes.
Midvale City Neighborhood Watch has been recognized as one of the very best in Utah. Officer Ken Davis, co-chair of the Safe Midvale Committee, uses a Neighborhood Watch software program to keep the organization up to date. The software allows Officer Davis to send out alerts, messages or information about upcoming events to all of Midvale or as small as single blocks. However, in order to take advantage of this feature Officer Davis needs your name, address and email address. You can send the info to him at kdavis@midvalepolice.org. No one has access to this program except Officer Davis. Your information will not be shared with anyone except the seven area leaders of Neighborhood Watch. All messages will go out in blind copy form so that no one else sees your email address.
www.citizenobserver.com also allows Midvale Police to send messages and alerts to our citizens and businesses of Midvale City. This is a voluntary program and free of cost to you and your police department. You do need to go to the website and sign up for membership and how you would like to receive the alerts i.e. phone, fax, email, etc.
Midvale Police is trying to take advantage of new technology to communicate with you better, faster and cheaper. The more you know the better you can protect yourself, your kids and your neighborhood. Please attend the exceptional educational/crime prevention classes offered every other month. Join us in this effort.
